Dr Desai’s has been a pioneering effort in the field of hospital planning and management consultancy services in India. He has been involved in various prestigious assignments with Multilateral and Government agencies as a specialist consultant. Some of which are as under:
a)	Advisor to Maharashtra Government for the Maharashtra Health Systems Development Project under the World Bank funded scheme. He traveled to Australia with Government officials to understand the Public Private Joint ventures in health Care
b)	Consultant to the World Bank for Expansion of Revised National Tuberculosis Program in Maharashtra
c)	Corporate Consultant to Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) for their health care initiatives. Worked on Strategic Planning, Hospital Design, International Tie Ups (traveled to Harvard Medical International, USA) Feasibility Reports etc.
d)	Faculty Member at Tata Institute Of Social Sciences and Indian Institute of Health Management & Research for the Diploma and Masters Program in Hospital Administration for teaching Health Economics, Hospital Planning & Design, and TQM

Before starting Hosmac, Dr Desai was briefly employed with P.D. Hinduja National Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai as Administrative Medical Officer for a period of 11 months. He was then responsible for setting up an exclusive Executive Health Check program and was a key member of the Quality Assurance group.

Dr Nambiar has accumulated over twenty one years of experience in the medical profession and has served at institutes like Fortis Hospital, Rockland Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, Shree Chitra Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, PD Hinduja National Hospital and Armed Forces Medical College to name a few. She has been awarded by the World Bank in 2004 for Country Development Market place (India) in 2004 as well as the Rotary foundation scholarship (GSE) in the year 1997 and a UICC (ICRETT) Fellowship in the same year. She has researched extensively in the areas of public health, clinicals and experimental medicine.
